Can you confirm that this is aterina

Found this on the rock last night. I hadn't seen any asterina and at first I wasn't sure that it was anything but I took a pic to see if it would move and this morning it is gone. Its small but I could only see the one arm. Do you think it is asterina starfish?

It doesn’t look like one of the 500 <insert eye roll emoji here> in my tank. The color is right though.

Pic a little fuzzy but looks like asterina invasion. They break off a leg and produce a new one, hence the odd shapes.

Yeah I know, my first tank years ago was absolutely infested with them. I kind of liked them but I don't want them to get like that in this tank. I like diversity in a tank but something in the 1000s isn't all that diverse lol.

Can be a zoa nightmare.
Have zero in 2 of 3 tanks and that's the way I want it. Just found a giant one, larger than a penny in my cube tank last week

I’m not sure what that is. I’d be checking my rock work regularly, just in case.

I will keep my eye on them. I don't have any zoas yet but I am on the lookout for some I like.

Definitely an asterina starfish. Sometimes you'll see one or two legs at a time.
