Its said that the best way to cycle a tank is with live rock. Can we cycle a tank using Pukani dry rock? Id assume that it will have some dead algae and other stuff on it even after a short acid bath of 20 minutes. Wouldn't this add organics which creates ammonia and begins the nitrogen cycle? Once my parameters are normalized would it now be cycled and able to handle a couple of fish?

A glass of water will cycle eventually.
Yeah the tank will cycle just fine with dry rock, no live rock is needed. Will the cycle take longer, probably.
You can use any number of cycling products, personally I like Dr.Tims or Microbacter7.
The term cycle only means that the amount of bacteria within the system has reached the point that the nitrogen cycle is completed in a timely manner, based on the amount of available organics. If you add more organics (fish, food) the beneficial bacteria will need to increase, so stock slowly.
