Can you dose Alk and Not Ca

My calcium levels are a little high and I need them to naturally come down. My Alk still needs to be dosed. Can I just dose Alk or will this cause a spike or fall in Ca?

Yes if they are out of balance it is fine to dose one and not the other to get where you want it.

I dose alk daily but my calcium numbers stay good between water changes so no need to dose that.

Yes you just dose each as required to maintain the correct levels

As others have mentioned you can dose one without the other if your levels are unbalanced. Once they are balanced, if you’re using a balanced 2 part, you’ll want to dose both in equal amounts to keep them balanced. If you’re not using a balanced 2 part, you’ll need to monitor both your Alk and calcium and dose each according to a reef calculator based on the formula and how much your tank is consuming.
