Can you drill into a RSR Reefer Cabinet?

Has anyone ever drilled a hole into a Red Sea Reefer cabinet (non-plywood)? Would it compromise the structural integrity?

I have a Red Sea Reefer 350. I would like to drill a 1 1/4" hole in the divider panel to route additional cables from the sump to the compartment on the right.

I can’t see a problem with this. I don’t even think the divider panel is particularly structural or load bearing in any case, all that is provided by the outside frame. I haven’t done this myself but I have drilled a 3/4” hole in the back panel of my RSR 525 XL without causing any issues. That panel is plywood however.

From a structural standpoint, I don't see any issue or concern with a hole that size in the dividing panel.

As soon as you do Redsea can probably tell you you've void the warranty. Can you and will it be still structurally sound? Probably.

(I will never admit that I might have put several holes in my cabinet to route hose, tubing, cables and wires.)
