Can you feed duck weed to tang

One of my planted freshwater tanks has an abundance of duck weed. A lot of freshwater fish eat it and it got me wondering if it would be a safe treat for my tang.

Anyone tried this before or have an opinion on if it would be safe?

Gold fish love it...Don't know about tangs. Should be fine as long as you aren't treating the FW tank with anything that would cause issues.

Curious to see if you tried this as I have duck weed coming out of my ears and would like to use it beneficially besides fertilizer for my outdoor plants.

If there was anything harmful in it I doubt so many freshwater fish would be eating it - plenty of marine foods get fed to freshwater and vice versa. Give it a try.

I’ve been feeding duckweed for years. It will survive in SW for a few days, and I like to add a bit extra when I go away for say a weekend. I don’t use overflows in any of my tanks, so I’m not sure how much of an issue that might be. I have a lot of surface agitation, and using something like a floating plastic ring helps to keep it from blowing around all at once.
