I have a 30 gal cube aquarium and am currently running a 50 gal hob filter ( bio wheel). I was in the process of getting ready to set up my 47 gal colum tank and had purchased a 50-70 gal filter, also a job bio wheel, with plans on using it on 47. Well Harvey had different plans and I never got to set up the 47. My 50 gal filter keeps turning off and a friend has my tank st this time. Would it be ok to use the bigger filter until I can figure out what’s wrong with the current one. It is over 5 years old so it may just be done. I just don’t have the extra funds to buy a new one atm and the 70 gal is brand new still in the box so I was hopi g it would be ok to use for now. Thanks for any comments

You will be fine with the Larger filter. HOBs are not generally an aggressive filter , so you def have wiggle room.

Thank you so much. Had to top off water but it didn’t seem to be too much of a change. Transferred old filter pads because they were still good. Just added one new one.
