My good friend has just given me this nice looking coral , my tank is 2 months old. This is the first coral i have added to my aquarium , so i guess i will experiment with this one since it was free. I have everything in check, the only thing i don't do is, supplement. I let my weekly water changes add the calcium and magnesium needed. So hopefully this coral can do with no supplementation. It has greenish tips (picture does not bring out its true colors) Does it look healthy?

It appears to be a hammer to me. Not sure if you were looking for something more then that. I'm just getting into the hobby but the hammer is one of my favs haha. It's an LPS. I bet it'll be an awesome first coral!

It does seem to be a hammer after a quick google search lol. It's very nice looking , i love how it sways with the current. I hope it's not a tough coral to care for

Looks good to me; maybe frogspawn; closely related to hammers and torches. Most probably aggressive and would benefit from feeding.

They are not. That's why I want to start with one haha. I think they need low/medium flow and medium light. They are related to the frogspawn and torch coral. All three of them are awesome.

As for the color. I'm sure if your lighting is sufficient it will get its color back. There are definitely a lot of different ones out there and some are much more colorful then others. So your hammer might not be one of the super Neon ones.

You are saying hammers are not aggressive?

Pretty good video:

Its a hammer coral, i agree. And they do seem to be an aggressive species. So i will be carefull of what i put around it. I saw it shock my peppermint shrimp earlier today.

Oh sorry I didnt mean it wasnt aggressive I meant I dont think its hard coral to care for. Haha your post wasnt there when I was writing mine so I didnt see it until now :)

Also thanks for that video! That was great for me.

Understand, I'm not known for good timing lol. Just wanted to make sure Rodolfo doesn't have a bad experience like his peppermint shrimp did!
