brown, low mass, decreases with low light. thready. some portions are like strands of thin hair but the images don't show them well.

As another has said, we will need some tank info. Looks like a fairly new set up. Do you have any CUC yet? Looks like just a start to the ugly phase to me.

Why do you need to identify it? It looks like the very early algae phase of a new tank.

If you don’t like it and it is a nuisance then use a gravel vac and remove it.

a little on the high side last time i checked. i feed some pellets and flake. i was told not to worry about the nutrients. IDK
