Well, was at an lfs yesterday, and saw they had this lobo sitting there, bleached out and pretty rough looking. Had it for $20, but they took $15 for it. I thought it was WAY worth it, as it's probably 4" at it's widest. It flouresces green under actinics, but also appears like it may have another color around the perimeter, as well. I tried feeding it last night, but it wouldn't eat. Well couldn't get it to eat fast enough that my lm blenny wouldn't take it off first. Had a piece of krill sitting on top of it with a glass bowel over it, and the little sucker tipped the bowel over and took the krill. this morning, it was all opened up with tentacles out, and quickly retracted when I turned the lights on. I just fed the tank Omega flakes, and it did open a little with tentacles out.

They had it listed as a bleached lobo, but could this be a scoly? I haven't seen lobos this round before, and don't have any experience with scolies to know if it could be one, or not.

Any ideas?

Here's a pic:

Az, I was meeting James from reefestate in cutlerville, and vi is just about 1/2 to 1 mile away from where I met James, on division. i needed some filters for my daughter's tank, so i buzzed in. picked up a purple/pink (can't tell which, lavender, really) monti cap frag for $5, then saw this guy sitting towards the back, and the tank said bleached lobo $20. so, asked if they'd take 15, as the guy said it had been sitting there for a long time, before he even gotten there. they took it, and i took it home :) i was very happy to be someone who made a find :haha: I'm almost positive it's going to come back, from prior experience. it does have good flesh, still, glows a neon green under actinics, which fades to a different color, and the tentacles come out in the dark and react very quickly when the lights come on. so, she's eating, and that's the best thing :D

hopefully i can remember to take weekly pic's.

i'll also try to remember to take a pic of the bottom tomorrow.

thanks, guys!

i don't mind buying the not-so-nice stuff, as long as i know it will be nice at some point. (well, still don't know what colors it's going to be)

I vote scoly....

okay, just an update a week later.

here is the before, again:

last night i was feeding the tank a mix of mysis, rod's and coral frenzy. after i finished feeding, i noticed it was eating. this is the first time it has eaten when i've fed. normally opens up at night when the lights are off, but is closed within 5-10 seconds of the lights being on. she was eating good tonight!! lights on, too! (one is taken with flash, one is without flash, so they look different)

The reason I think it's a lobo is because the picture below is a lobo and they are pretty close in shape. (The picture is credited to G-I)

wow! that's almost exactly the same!! just i don't know what color this one is going to be. if that one in the pic is a lobo, than mine is too, because it's exactly the same! cool to know.

anyway, i already shot the pic's, so you're getting them anyway :p
