Can you identify these things?

My 75 gallon reef is 10 years old. A couple months ago I started dosing Vibrant and fluconazole which eliminated the mat of gha from my tank. In place of the algea I now have colonial hydroids and these black raised pointy things, forgive the verbage please. Anyone tell me what these things are?

Images are blurred. I am guessing it might be vermetids covered in black cyano.

They do not move like a snail. Hmm I had better look closer. They have a pointed top where there appears to be an opening of some sort. I will see if I can get a better pic but my s5 has trouble focusing in my tank.

colonial hydroids,,the bristle type filaments behind rock next to wall of tank right ? if so..yes,,colonial hydroids...
not good,,do your research on how to get rid of them pronto

I am aware of the hydroids. I am asking about the small black pointy things.

I have been dosing Vibrant and fluconazole. With the algae gone, and me not ski.ming for 2 months, other critters are finding conditions they like.

How long have you been dosing fluconazole. How often do you do that?

For gha the fluconazole wiped it out. One dose and 3 weeks for some people. Me it was one dose and waited 3 weeks, water change and a day of skimming and carbon, removed the skimmer and carbon and a second dose and 4 weeks later no gha. Heaven!!!

OK, I was just making sure it wasn't a daily ongoing thing. I don't follow the protocols, so am unaware of what is customary. I seriously believe those are hydroids, but fluconazole is supposed to be the "treatment" for that. Did you mix the 2 treatments? If yes, is that how it's usually done?

There are hydroids in the pic also. Some use both vibrant and fluconazole but the fluconazolE alone is what wipes out gha and bryopsis.

Oh, yes. You can't miss them as you have a lot.

If your algae recently died (as well as die off from other things from the medication), your tank is probably a little high in nutrients. That can feed pods that feed the hydroids.

Yea I need to get my skimmer bleached and back on the tank. It has been running w/o any filtration of any kind for 2 months and everything looks great. That will come to an end at some point thouvh.

They were probably there hidden by the hair algae if it was thick enough to hide them.
Those sharp pointed boogers can be black, red, maroon, pink, tan or brown in color.
I've seen many different colors to their tubes, can't explain it but would suppose it has something to do with chemistry and nutrients available to them along with other factors such as light.

You could spend some time snapping them off with coral cutters and removing them from the tank.
They are a pain in the finger haha
