so I have this beautiful rimless tank thank with one of those big center black top to bottom overflow/return box. its an eye sore for sure. its about a 12x8x24

about to do a tank restart and painting the back blue and maybe remove the overflow and drill the tank... if I grow a pair.. or maybe just take it out and use a life reef overflow box .
or just paint the box to match the back ground.

SOOO
can you paint acrylic and will it last? I am guessing not but I have never tried it.

I’ve never painted it, however you could try and block it from view by altering your rockscape and strategically placing corals such as monti caps, tabling acros, and large leathers to make it much less noticeable. Typically it is only noticeable to you because everybody else is so mesmerized by the incredible array of colors and movement most reef tanks have.

well its not only big its black...um talking about the overflow box her ladies...
the think is I am going to paint the back blue as I like it and it will help the seahorses be brighter. so to have a big black over flow tower right in the middle kinda sucks...but its better than a crack tank I guess.

I was looking online and found some blue acrylic guess I could always glue it over the tower..
