Can you pleaseeee help!!

To help with my super high no3 issue, I did 3x 120 gal and 1 x 80 gal on my 240 to get no3 from 200+ down to 10 ppm in about 1.5 weeks. Small 20-40 gallon water changes didn’t do much.

My final 80 gallon water change got my levels to 25 ppm, and I have a sulfur reactor running and dosed microbacter 7 daily for 2 weeks too, so not sure if those two additional things helped bring the no3 down.

Can you do larger volume wc?

no? 0.6 on the Red Sea kit?

Was it .6ml of solution used to color change or .6 when you applied the solution used to the scale on the card afterward?

I have not seen a RS kit that reads that high without doing a different procedure albeit I have not seen all of them. The Hanna Phosphorus has to read 200 to give a .61 result.

Those are massive water changes...What is you water source? And, have you changed the resin if it is an RO/DI system as your water source? Also, changing that much water so often will decrease the amount of beneficial bacteria, so every time you feed after that water change you are adding to your problem.

If I were you I would buy some Brightwell MicrōBacter7 and Red Sea NoPox. You would not believe how fast this will take both NO3 & P04 levels down, be careful because rapid reduction in P04 may stress and bleach your corals if done too quickly. You absolutely need a good skimmer to use these products though. Large water changes are stressful and the problem will more than likely come back in a short amount of time. Water changes are best used for vacuuming detritus bi-weekly or once a month. The NoPox is a long term solution as well, it’s not that expensive and the level of dosing required once everything is in check is very low. One issue I had when I started is that my P04 went down to zero and nitrate reduction stopped (at 25ppm) so I had to dose Brightwell NeoPhos to get it back up. If P04 is zero N03 will not be consumed by the bacteria. You need both present.
