The title pretty much says it.
Can you put hydrogen Peroxide on a dosing pump?

I have an idea to put hydrogen Peroxide and bacteria on a neptune Dos.
The idea is to dose 20ml of hydrogen Peroxide every night and 20ml of bacteria every day.

Is this doable?
 
Technically peroxide can be put on a doser. I don't think it will damage lines or anything. The major factor is peroxide is not the most stable chemical composition. If the container is as room temperature and not sealed, it will be losing potency as time goes. May be better to have a smaller dosing container that is filled weekly or so.

As for the effects of broadcast dosing, not sure if you're looking for algae reduction.
 
I have/had dinos or something like dinos. Whatever it is, I am trying to not let it get out of hand. It's not cyano but I don't think it's dinos either. It does up a this dark rust colored film/dust like stuff. It always takes to plastics like pumps and frag racks. It also gets on the glass.
It's not diatoms at all.

I understand that dosing hydrogen Peroxide at night along with dosing bacteria during the day is helpful.

I've been doing it manually but setting it up on a doser would be so much better and easier.

My idea is to drill a hole on the top of the container, add a line then seal the line so I'm not introducing too much air to the Peroxide.
Same with the bacteria.

180 gallon sps dominate reef lit by 4 kessil a360x with two Reefbrite Lumilite Pros actinic.
 
Does you pH swing daily from 8 to 8.6? Never seen a swing that large.

Other than that parameters look good. Do run run a refugium with chaeto? Do you have UV lights and how strong is it? Have you tried phytoplankton to get rid of the dinos?

According to your parameters, your phosphate is not in relative balance to your nitrate at .4 versus nitrate of 5ppm.
Nutrient levels should remain in the slots and with 5ppm nitrate, I’d run 0.05-.1ppm phosphate.

Pest algae’s and bacteria get the upper hand when N and P are:
-both elevated.
-one elevated or zero.
-both zero.

If you don’t fix the original problem, the Peroxide treatment will last only for a few days.

I would just dose this by hand, peroxide when lights are out.

No.
That's not a daily ph swing. It's a spread.

I run a Pentair aquatics 40w UV with correct flow and install.
I run a Reef Octopus Algae Reactor.
I dose Easyreefs EasySPS and EasyBooster for phytoplankton.

I really don't think it's dinos. I don't know what it is.

That’s fine. Had to check.
Are you sure it’s 0.04ppm?
My point is that Hanna checkers have +- error of 0.04 so while it could be 0.08ppm, 0.04ppm or 0.00ppm which would be bad.

This happened to me until I go an ICP and my constant 0.05ppm was in fact 0.00ppm.

So I increased to .1ppm and the difference was noticed in about 4 days.

I use my Reefbot to do my nitrate and phosphate tests.

Nitrate test uses Tropic Marin Pro reagents and Phosphate test uses Red Sea low range reagents.

If you trust them, then you trust them.
But all have + - flux and in terms of phosphate, there’s so little in the water, many tests only come close.

I've had them backed up by icp tests and other test kits.

When hydrogen peroxide is exposed to oxygen it releases the extra oxygen molecule, this is what causes the oxidation effect some believe to be effective. Exposure to air or light for that matter, releases the extra oxygen molecule and turns it into water, H2O. Mixing it with anything would immediately start the oxidative process. I don't believe it would remain stable to continue to give you the desired oxidative effect.

If it's not being exposed to oxygen and not mixed with anything else. If your delivery system is exposed to O2, eventually you will just be dosing H2O.
 
Would a neptune dos do the trick do you think?
Tube sealed in the Peroxide bottle?
 
I'd say it's inexpensive enough to try, since anything that happens will make the H2O2 less potent not more, so not dangerous.
