So I have a mixed reef set bit of everything. Getting more into sps corals I've started dosing ESV 2part. Some people say to keep low Alk 7.5-8 for sps?? I had been keeping trying to keep Alk about 9 and Ca 420 min. After dosing 50ml. per day for 4 day my Alk is 8.8 but Ca. has gone from 360 to 380. I'm afraid if I keep dosing my Alk will be too high to get Ca up to 420-440.

Are there ways to effect Ca and not Alk?? Or just I keep the Alk in check and not worry about the Ca. I have great p extension and I'm happy with coral growth and color. How do you really know there is not written scale on for coral growth.

You can dose the parts in different amounts until you get to the desired levels. Once there, you can go back to dosing equal amounts.
