Can you remember . . .

. . . the last time you dismantled and thoroughly cleaned your tank's main drive pump and your skimmer pump? If not your system is probably not turning over as much water as you think it is. It's also quite likely that the impellers will seize up at some point in the near future, causing many more problems than result from slow turnover. Take some time in the next couple of weeks to do some major cleaning. You'll be glad you did.

along with a vinegar bath for my powerheads. I use my BlackBerry and put it in the calendar as a reoccurring reminder. If it wasn't for the BB I would forget to sleep and and eat..:bigsmile:

Thanks Gary, after reading this thread this morning, I spent most of the day cleaning out my skimmer, complete tear down, and cleaning the pumps, and my calcium reactor. It was over a year ago that I did it last. Cleaned out from under all the equipment and even cleaned the floors. Looks like day one again.
I'm glad its over now. LOL
