It looked really unhealthy when I eased up on feedings by snacking on its own tentacles often. Is there anyway to contain/shrink this beast? Don’t get me wrong, we love it but it’s out of control now.

I’ve had this anemone for about 2 years. It split a few times in the first year but it’s been a year since it split again. I’m happy with it not splitting because the babies always end up killing some coral. Ever since it stopped splitting it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and now wants to take over my 90g lol. As it grows I remove corals in its path but sometimes it’s tentacles can reach 18”+ so nothings totally safe. Are there any safe methods to shrinking these nem’s?

You can always cut it in half in the system to control the size. It can be tricky in the system but it can be done for sure. Just takes a razor blade, time, and some patience.

Holy .... that is a beautiful specimen. There is “natural” nothing to do. That’s an anemone tank now lol.

You could split it yourself, which is fraud upon by some but if you don’t want that big mamba jamba in your tank then that’s one way

Exactly, it’s now an anemone tank or at least the right side.
