starting a diy led build to tweak the color and add some par to my current reef tank. I will need to be controlling around 40 different ldd drivers. I only need at most 12 different control channels. can the channels be split to more than one driver and has anyone done this. thanks, steve

IF I remember correctly, the StormX can control up to 16 channels.

Are you wanting to control 2 drivers with 1 channel? Why not just use one of the 4 channels you aren't using?

Maybe I'm not understanding your question?

You can parallel several drivers easily from a single channel.

I believe that you can do a ridiculous number of ldd drivers on a single channel- like 60. But I can’t find the source of that at 7 am.

I’ll look and update later

For my build, I’m using a storm and plan to have 3 channels each running 4 ldd 1000mA drivers driving 4 12v cobs off of 2 x 60v 7.2 amp supply’s. Then a couple channels of 3v LEDs fir color fill and moonlights. I could have bought the storm x with 16 channels, but I can multiplex the storm pwms, so why spend the extra money? Plus it’s less wiring running from controller to fixture, if you parallel off a bus bar at the fixture end

But OP- yeah, go fir it, you’ll be fine

So, yeah, 4 will be fine

thanks all. bought a few 4 post wire connectors to use as my splitters. powered up one heatsink with 2 vero 18 4 k emitters and a bit of blue and lime, mint, and cyan just to see how bright it is without the reflector made yet. still awaiting the 12 watt luxeon ms and my 12 and 10 watt violets. those may take up to 3 weeks to come in. but at 1 foot over the heatsink I was getting a 500 peak par over the vero 18s. I will need to very slowly ramp this thing up once I install the batch.
