Hey everybody, I am new in the community and new in the field of reef aquarium. I hope you ca n help me. I think I will have a lot of questions in the future I started no so long ago a reef aquarium by preparing the salty water and a week later I add living stones. Surprisingly, I found life in my aquarium without buying myself any animals. My first one, is a star fish

. Do you have information about it? What should I do is it good or bad? The second that I observed was a fire worm or something similar. I unfortunately didn't manage to do nice pictures of it. I also have, what I think are corals

, but could be something else... is someone having any ideas? I also have some weird debris maybe coming from a specific animal

Thank you very much, but how I really stop the Aptasia for spreading. You suggest super glue, could you tell me which one and how to proceed. Isn't there a natural predator for this algue? How fast is it spreading? Should I alreadw try to remove them by hand?

Coool, I am so happy to have a cucumber, I was really hoping this answer. What shall I do to keep this little baby alive? Is there any other species that could kill or eat this cucumber? when I can expect to have it at an adult stage? mine is not bigger than one cm and I saw so big ones.
And what about the sponge? is it growing fast? How I can take care of it? Is a sponge moving?

Aptasia can become a nusance rather quickly. Any super glue would work, just be sure to cover the ENTIRE anemone. Commercial products like Aptasia-x work well too.
Natural predators for Aptasia include Berghia nudibranches, Copperband Butterflies (expert only fish), and some Peppermint shrimp (don't recommend these as they can and will eat Coral)
Removal by hand is problematic at best. Aptasia will shrink back into a crevice and have also been known to release spores when threatened.
Other home made remedies such as covering them with Kalk paste, blasting them with boiling water (not recommended) or lemon juice as well

I have two pepermint shrimp and a Blood red.

They keep aptisia and even some bugs under control.

I actually have a single large mother aptisa head that i allow to live as its off spring gives my shrimp nice snacks. The onky reason it has survived is because it high in mt tank where they don't like to go.

You then mean normal super glue not one special for aquarium?

Exactly. The 2 pack from the 99¢ store is basically the same stuff sold as "Reef glue"
Just be sure to get the gel type as some cyanoacrylate (super or crazy glue) can be as thin as water and thus much less effective.
