I noticed a fuzzy white patch on the side of my potters angel last night. Tried to get a pic but its hard b/c he is hanging out by the side wall in bad light. You can sort of see it in this pic. He isn't showing signs of breathing heavy or flashing, and his fins are clear. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I start a copper treatment to be safe ? Its a FOWLR and I have cupramine.

Gosh I don't know, I am no humblefish...

It's hard to tell, if you look close does it look like several small things? My first inclination is velvet but honestly both strains I have had did not show "classic" velvet symptoms and thus I am FAR from an expert.

Could he have been stung by something?

I'll try paging humble but I know he is gone.

Either way I'd get it in QT just to be safe.

There's nothing in the tank that can sting. It looks kind of velvety so I thought velvet, but it doesn't look gold and the other symptoms aren't present.
i don't think I can catch him to put him in QT though. I tried briefly but tank is too big and he goes straight for the rock work when I try.

It looks like a fungal infection. But to treat I would put him in a qt system.

Like I said, can't catch him to put him in QT, but I don't have inverts so I can treat the display tank with anything but antibiotics that kill my nitrifying bacteria. What is the treatment for a fungal infection?
