Yes, peppermints will do the job. Though manual removal/plugging with glue is probably the best route.

I use to use Joe's Juice. It worked for me. If it is only one and you can get to the foot, you could use a razor blade to scrape it off with the rock out of water. If there is tissue left, it will likely regrow.

I have never had success with peppermints. Mostly had them damage lps corals. Also, make sure you get real peppermints if you go that route. Some shrimp are sold as peppermints but are not actually peppermints.

Unless you have a bunch to get rid of, I wouldn't go the peppermint route as they can also pick at corals. Try aiptasia x or Joe's juice. Or remove the rock from the aquarium and chip off the section with the aiptasia on it.

The peppermint i added after having 3 aptasia took care of all of them - is a peaceful inhabitant and does not bother any of my corals.

I swear as soon as i put the little guy in there, he immediately ran to the aptasia and demolished it... ripping it up piece by piece. Funny sight to see.

From my experience, they work great.
