Yes. I’m using that pump on a 60G to replace nearly all evaporation. I’ve got Kalkwasser in mine however.

Yes, place a marking in/on your return pump chamber so you know exactly what your desired waterlevel is, then it will take you a couple of days to set the right amount of rodi water to keep it at that level. If you dose each hour, let's say 30ml to start with, you will in the end have less fluctuations than with most true ato's.
When you go to colder or warmer periods in your room (going from summer to winter) you will probably need to make some adjustments though.
