I have a nano thats been up around 3 months. Two frags of zoas. One with between 20 and 30 polyps and another with 7. The larger colony seems to be doing ok, but the one with 7 polyps seems to be getting smaller over time. In the tank are also a 5 head hammer, a 2 head bicolor hammer, a 5 head Duncan, a frag of Monti and one of purple pocci. Oh, and two btas and 3 clowns. Oh yeah, and a frag of GSP. Truly a mixed reef, I guess.
The hammers are doing great. Lots of polyp extension. The duncans also. The monti is encrusting nicely and over about 3 weeks there is almost 2mm of growth on either side. The pocci also seems to be doing great. I feed the sps and softies about 2 times a week with reef roids, and lps grow pellets to the duncans and hammers.
My concern is with the zoas. I've heard they need dirtier water. But I've also read that they are hardy?
My parameters are as follows.
SG 1.026
Temp around 25.5c
ph 8.1
Nitrates 1
Phosphates 0.15
Alk 9
Cal 440
Mag 1440
Lighting is provided with an Illumagic Blaze mini
Flow is with a jebao slw-10
Bubble Magus qq1 hob does the skimmer duties.
Any advice on the zoas?
