So I am new to this hobby and I am starting a coral tank but I live in Alberta, It seems that our airlines wont fly corals into here. Is there any coral dealers in canada or stateside that import into Alberta ?

This is great as this is where i live!
Cool! Welcome to reefing, you're in for a fun ride! Mitch from NDA delivers to your door for free as well, although he's opening a shop soon so I guess that'll stop. I haven't had any pests on his corals either, although I still quarantine any corals for at least a month or two in a separate tank. Dealing with hitch hikers is a pain in the *** so definitely look at running a small quarantine tank for fish and corals. Lots of great info on here about setups. I have 20g long with a hob filter, small power head, heater, Home Depot window screen lid and a cheap Amazon light that I use when needed. Instant cycle as I keep a couple of bags of Seachem Matrix in my sump to seed the filter (gets thrown out after use in the quarantine tank). PVC pipe to keep any fish happy and an egg crate frag rack for any corals. Most expansive bit of kit was an ATO, cost more than the rest of the setup but I don't want a flood in my basement.

Anything you can do to prevent having to deal with bubble algae, aptasia, flatworms etc in your display tank is so worth it. I learnt the hard way! Never trust anything you buy to be free of some annoying pest. Dipping coral won't get rid of everything (aptasia are dang near indestructible pests).

I occasionally use Aquarium Illusions for corals but their prices can be a bit hit or miss. Their fish are OK though and they have a good selection of dry goods.

Big Al's are OK for fish, just have to time it right after they have a new delivery as they sell out fast for some reason but avoid their corals - crazy prices.

There's a guy that posts on Kijiji every few weeks called Koko that has some nice zoas and sps but dip the heck out of anything from him! Had some really good zoas from him in the past. Lots of heads per frag.

There's also Ethical Aquatics in Sherwood Park - they pre quarantine all their fish. Haven't used them yet as I need to move my tank soon. Going to see if they can get some fish I want after the move. Really like the idea as the fish should be much more likely to survive and their prices are almost the same as other places in Edmonton.

Anything else you want to know just reach out!

you seem knowledgeable who can I go to for a custom aquarium here in alberta

Only local places I've heard do custom is Aquarium Illusions and Aqua Lab (Spruce Grove). Just have a strong drink ready when you receive the quote......will make Red Sea or Waterbox prices look cheap! Would be better quality for sure but it's impossible to compete on price.
