Just a question for fellow Canadians who have QT tanks. With the ban on any fish medication in Canada how do you treat any livestock in a QT tank? I have some old ich medication but if my fish actually has something that requires medications thanks to the ban i can't get anything from what i understand. I've heard of some people using ebay and getting things shipped from the U.S. but it as a gamble that it will be stopped at the border. Any advice for a fellow Canadian setting up a QT tank.

I am not in Canada, but not a fan of copper. (No discussion needed on this, just trying to aid someone in another qt/treatment option that has worked well for me)

take a gander at this thread by @Humblefish.

h2o2 is readily available and has worked well for others and myself. Even with confirmed velvet in sensitive fish.

Thanks Steve, good to see there are other options out there.

Thanks sleeping giant I'll look into those online sites. Really wish I had a decent LFS near me, all the good ones are a few hours away. Just waiting on the border to open up so i can go over to Michigan.

Ban on medication for fish? How stupid is that? Do they just make all medication have to have prescription? I guess you can just get medication (antibiotics) for dog, cat, horse, human... Whatever, and use it for fish.
I understand Peanut is illegal in Canada also. This is government running amok. I am glad I don’t live in Canada.
