Hey guys so I’ve had this CC for about a month now and I realized that the mouth part looks like it’s sinking a lot. Is this a problem? If so how do I deal with it? I think there’s some skeleton starting to show as well

Candy cane overall looks good. Are you feeding it, and if so what are you feeding?
I’m not feeding it anything should I be? I’m worried because it’s been pretty deflated the past couple days and it looks like the flesh is starting to tear at some parts

Tes and they look hungry. Give them mysis shrimp 2-4days per week. Feeding is a must and assure phos and nitrates are not elevated. Yours looks close to mine below.

Those look great, I just fed reef roids and they definitely had a reaction. Are reef roids ok or should I push mysis?

I wouldent “push in” anything. If the feeder tentacles are out they will take food on their own. Have you looked at it after lights off? Mine will often open up completely to feed. Yours looks very similar to the top one I just bought. It hasn’t gotten happy quite yet.

Mine do this every night right at lights off and into the night. It’s easier for me to feed them at night.

Reef roids won’t cut it while they’ll take some. Roids will also raise your phosphate level fairly quickly

Update*

my candy cane looked EXACTLY like Mateos, I fed it and it closed. Will update tomorrow thanks for all the help.
(Fed it a piece of mysis per head)

While "roids" will feed it to some extent, I have found some LPS will push it back out without processing it. I believe it's just too "mushy", or fine for some that prefer more meatier foods.

Candy canes prefer more meatier foods like a nice chunk of mysis, clam, mussel, squid, or fish.

Sorry for not updating, got a little caught up in some stuff, anyway I did feed the CC tonight as well and was wondering if it looks better. Any thoughts? Also I’ve heard it’s not really possible to overfeed corals but is there a negative side to feeding daily?. Also would adding copepods to the system have a negative impact on the corals?
