Alright folks had this candy cane for over a week now and have seen no movement from it at all, wondering if anyone can tell from the photo if it is dead or almost dead, looks like it would be a nice coral so would love some info to maybe get it opened up !!!

Are you checking at night? They open at night when the lights are off. I can tell by the pic it is not dead.

It may just be acclimating to the new water parameters and temp. They'll also close up like this when their getting ready to poop :)
They don't like a lot of flow and prefer low to medium lighting. As long as your seeing tissue, keep the faith and give it time. Soon it will look like this

Good luck and keep us posted.

Brilliant  , glad it's not dead al try moving it coz it will be in a relatively high flow area where it is just now
, yeah av had look thru the night and it is always as it is in the picture, should I be feeding it anything or will what floats around from fish food suffice, ?

The you move then recently? If so then is because u place then in a area with a lot o flow or too much light like the guys were telling you before good luck
