Hello fellow reefers,

Sorry for the newbie questions but only 10 weeks into the hobby and trying to learn as much as possible.
Bought my first lps, a candy cane, love this coral but not as much as my clown goby lol.
Noticed we have got Xenia growing on the side, can I frag this to move it somewhere else in the tank as the mrs loves Xenia, if I leave it will it harm my candy cane

Thanks in advance

Dom

It’s not going to harm the candy cane in the short term but in the long run it may cover the candy cane up and block the light. I would wait for a month or two until the candy cane starts growing to make sure it is doing fine before fragging it.

Thanks for the replies, how do I scrape it off?

I would be more worried about the candy cane harming the Xenia. Yes the Xenia can grow big and cover the candy cane but the candy cane has sweeper tentacles that come out when feeding and can sting the Xenia
