Can everyone let me know if my candy cane looks healthy and happy? First time having one so just want to make sure it looks happy!

Looks good, but why are they pointing down? You would see them better, and they would get better light, facing up

If you turn the whole frag about 180 degrees all the trumpet heads would all face up toward the light and that would probably be beneficial to them. See how the ones on top (in the light) are nice and puffy and the ones on the bottom look noticeably different?

They are actually very puffy. I didn’t get a video of it front on, just the side of it. But all of them are the same. Cause the stem is still getting a lot of lighting. I posted a photo I was going for but I’ll double check it and see if i can do the 180 like you said. I’ll post another video so you can see the bottoms ones better. I’m trying to grow it off to the side of the rocks like some people do

Ahh yeah I hear ya. I have a trumpet I've yet to place because they grow weird from what I've seen and I'm still trying to figure it out... I do think however having them all facing up while getting established will get them going better. Just my .02

Overall looks good. The only thing I can say is. . .
Similar to candy cane- this is a trumpet coral. While the bottom is not my favorite location due to sand particles, assure moderate light and water flow. Feed at least 2x per week with mysis shrimp (1-2 pieces good) per head
Assure calcium no less than 380 as the skeleton looks a little off

I’m a very heavy feeder. I do mysis everyday twice a day along with another cube; different in the morning and night. After I have fed the frozen food, I use the very tiny pellets about a 1/4 of a gram. That keeps everyone super happy and well fed. I do that twice a day. And every Monday I feed the corals the Goniopower. I do see the candy canes getting the mysis and other foods. The tentacles come out like crazy as soon as it senses that I’m feeding. It super cool!

It’s getting plenty of light especially on the stem. It’s very puffy. The light is hitting it all angles that you can’t seem from the pic. I’ve seen a ton of photos of corals growing on the side and the underneath parts are just fine.
