Just bought a 15 head candy cane coral. I brought it home and I acclimated it for the water and light. The location is in the sand bed with low flow. It’s been in my tank for three days now and I haven’t seen it open up yet. I have fed it with reef roids and it took that well. I can see the mouths open up and take the food. I just don’t understand why it’s not opening up to that awesome fleshy polyps. I’m probably just not being patient but does anyone have any tips for keeping them?
Thanks to all who reply!

Three days is still well inside the adjustment period for many corals

You say bottom of your tank but how much light is that? How deep? What lights are you running?

Water parameters are also really important to post.

Keep light low for 72 hours and sandbed not ideal as sand can irritate them but rather lower half of tank under moderate light and water flow. Feed mysis Shrimp 2x per week.

Well I have the Viparspectra 165 it’s mounted 12” from the water and the tank is 14” to the sand. Water parameters are…

Could I just superglue it to a rock that’s mid to low in the tank?

No need to superglue especially as when they add heads, the branches wont be able to spread allowing relocation. My 4 head is now 46 heads
