Candy Stripe Wrasse Disappeared?

I transferred my candy stripe wrasse from QT to DT yesterday and he disappeared on me almost immediately.

I can't find him anywhere and he didn't come out for food last night.

I checked sump and filter socks can't find him anywhere.

do they tend to hide in rockwork?

Yeah rockwork or sometimes hide out in the sand for a bit. Another possibility is he might be carpet surfing. If you don't have a lid, I'd be a tad worried.

Didn't find him carpet surfing anywhere ..looked throughly... but haven't seen a trace of him in 24 hrs

They can be excellent hiders. Going a few days without seeing it isn't abnormal.

I had a wrasse that I couldn't find for almost a month and I though he was long gone. Moved a few rocks around one day to clean the tank glass and he popped out of the sand looking fine and is doing great since.

I was actually calling him the wrong name....it's a pacific redstripe hogfish
