So I got this piece a few weeks ago, noticed the white on one of the heads, any ideas what it is? I think its got worse over the last 2 weeks.

I'm also trying to raise my NO3 & PO4 to help the sos frag I got as both have registered 0 for a while. Not sure the Candycane likes it as its not opening up ad much. I've only got at NO3 reading of 1 with PO4 still 0.

Not seeing a picture, can you try and post it again?

That said, I have one that grows like a weed, and I just tested last night and my nitrates were 0.09 (Hanna). They rarely even register in my tank, so sight unseen, I don't think it is a low nitrate problem. My phosphates are 0.06 (Hanna), and they hold pretty steady.

I would feed a little. I dont have them do well in my tanks with super low nutrients

They look fine
Agree they look fine. They aren’t 100% puffed up but they aren’t dying or ill. Did you move a power head or anything? They typically don’t like getting blasted with flow. Mine are pretty bullet proof. You can try moving them around to see if they prefer a different spot in your tank, but only if you want to experiment.

So this has gone downhill in 2 weeks

I've managed to increase my NO3 from 0 to 5 & PHO4 from 0 to 0.1. This was achieved by feeding x4 frozen cubes a day & addition of 6 anthias.

It hasn't puffed up at all in a few days & skeleton is now showing on all heads. I've moved it to the sandbed, although it was only 3 inches higher to start.

I couldn't see anything on it but is it worth dipping it?

My other corals aren't like this although I noticed a corner if my favia has peeled back last night.
