CANISTER FILTER LEAKING

So today I cleaned my canister filter and after putting it back together and turning it back on I noticed a slight leak coming from it, so I have decided against using it and going to buy another one.
I will not be able to get one for maybe 5 days?

My question is how is my chances of my tank surviving on just my live rock for filtration and wave makers to create oxygen,
Tank has been running for roughly a year

I have around 7 lps corals, yellow tang and a snowflake eel

one idea is to place the canister filter in a large tote or bucket, and still allow it to run. might be a bit too late to save any bacteria in it.

is there an o-ring around the lip of the canister? what brand/model is it??

Should be fine. Most modern day reefing started with just a skimmer, live rock, sand and a form of water movement. It's successor was called "the Berlin method".

That's how I started out and to this day it's basically the same way.

You’ll likely be fine. I’ve run all my tanks on canisters and I’ve been at it for 15 years. I’ve probably been through 3 or 4, and it’s not like I have spares... what I mean is I’ve been in your shoes before... wait till it breaks then replace. I’ve gone longer than a week and things ended up fine.

Believe me, I’ve screwed up my tank plenty from time to time, but situations like this didn’t have any substantial effect.
