Canister filter or aqua clear 70?

I have a 370 gph canister filter and a aqua clear 70 for my 20 gallon reef tank. Which one should I use? I heard canisters can be nitrate factories but with a filter this big on a 20g tank would it be a problem? (the canister is the sun sun hw303b model)

the flow off of it seems fairly worrying as 370 gph is 18.5 turn over which is way too much. you should also do the smaller one because to keep nitrates down you should change water polishing media weekly. and the smaller one is less work and cost.

Near this Sword plant is the out flow. It is not a lot of direct flow(great for the co2 i run)
The plant is still upright sways a little but not greatly. I would not believe this would be too much flow for a 20g.

I like canisters. I don’t know why people are down on canisters. Lots of things can leach nitrate if left to long. But the maintenance can be a pain.

Now that I defended canisters that aquaclear seems like a good choice as mentioned. I have ru. both canister and aquaclear over the years. Both are great as long as properly maintained. The aquaclear is easier to maintain, cheaper and a lot more versatile.
