I have a dino issue that I am dealing w in my 75G mixed reef. I think the dinos are releasing toxins and I want to remove the toxins with a canister filter and carbon.

Can someone recommend a good canister filter for a 75G that I can hang on the back of my tank or sump? I don't have a lot of space in the sump, so it needs to be small.

I heard Magnums are good, but I cannot find those...are they made by Marineland?

Thanks!

I used to use one of these for polishing my water.

I would fill it with carbon and run it for a week. Then dump it and rinse it out. Refill with carbon and run it for another week. There's not much capacity for holding media, so my theory was that all the media is gonna get used up or exhausted within a week anyway. I'm not tossing good carbon down the trash. I also didn't want it to ever become a source of nitrates, so by dumping and rinsing every week - it didn't allow aerobic bacteria to colinize inside.
