for about 7 months I've been using a canister filter on my tank and it has done wonders. i know its not the same as a sump but works very well for me. My question is I'm thinking about buying an innovative marine tank which has a filter in the back, but i was wondering would it work just to place my canister filter tubing in the back of that instead of using the hidden filter set up on that. so place the intake and the out take in that back of that and then add a pump to give flow to the tank.

Should work fine as long as the tubing isn't modified too much. People may give you crap for using a canister but as long as you keep it clean they're just fine. And yes please add a flow pump to the display, as always.

I have a 10-gallon tank and I am so upset with my tank. Because of lack of filtration, my aquarium looks dirty. But after setting up a canister filter (Fluval 406: Size 106/206/306/406). Now, my aquarium looks great and also all of the fishes are playing normally. After reviewing the accurate information about this product from this link, I finally bought this product. This device supports filtration in multi-stages. This particular Canister Filter is fit for both saltwater and freshwater aquariums. Have anyone tried using miracle mud in their canister filter? I would love a sump but my stand does not fit one.

Which model for how many gallon tank. What is your maintenance routine? Whats inside? Etc.

I've been debating running one on this 200gal I'm setting up as a fish only show tank. Any insight from someone who actually successfully uses one will help thanks!

Anytime anyone gives you grief about using a cannister filter just point out that it's just a reactor with a built in pump.
