I’m currently have a Somatic 60 sump kit that I’m running along side a marineland c530 canister filter for my 120 gallon FOWLR tank. I hate cleaning the canister so frequently. The sump is about 10gal. I added an additional sock filter to it and a skimmer. Do I really need to run the canister with it? I will eventually get a 30 gal sump to replace both (it’s the biggest I can slide in there).

Current stock:
4 in PBT
4 in Porcupine Puffer
2x 1.5 in clowns
2x 1 in damsels
2x 1.5 in Cardinals
1 1.5 in diamond goby
1 sand sifting sea star
1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
5x nassarius snails

Thanks!!

No need for a canister filter, it can even be detrimental if not frequently cleaned.
