Hey guys, I've been tossing around the idea of turning a canister filter into a fuge for my nano, sorta like fuge moding an aqua clear. I would probably use a Fluval 206 on my 15 and dremel out the majority of one side to replace with clear acrylic. Afterwards I would replace a chunk of the media with chaeto and install a light in my stand to shine in. Has anyone tried this or does anyone see any issues? My stand is pretty tight since it's a 15g column, so the other option is a 20g display fuge. I've gotten away with an aquaclear 70 hob and changing 1gal of water a day so far. I'm a mixed reef that's zoa heavy stocked with a pair of clowns. After changing filters I'll pick up a jabao circulation pump to increase the flow. Right now I have 350gph, I'd like to get to 500.

I thought about a 20g or 40g display fuge and another pair of clowns or breeding sexy shrimp in it. So far I'm leaning heavily towards a display fuge. I don't think a 15g main tank and 40g fuge is too silly.

I'm really partial to the collumn as my mt. Switching also means more lights (better than what can grow algae), moving all the coral, and even more work.

Yup. Display fuge is just a small power head a light and a return pump. I kinda like the ones that are put above the DT. Idk find a cool 10g
