Hey everyone. I am currently running a Canister filter but i am thinking of converting to a sump so i dont see so much hardware in my tank.

Is it possible to run a sump using my canister filter?
I dont really know much about sumps.

But i was thinking have an overflow running into a sump. With my heaters and protein skimmer in the sump. And then have the inlet of the canister filter in the sump, and the outlet running back to the tank....

would something like that work??

thank you

or would it bye better to run an overflow into the sump. then run the canister from the sump back into the sump, then a powerhead out of the sump back to the tank?? would this way also work??

which one would be better if they both work?

i use a canister as the return on one of my system... it works like a charm. Just do the inlet in the sump, and have it come out into the display
