yes you read that right lol. I have been having major issues tuning in my bubble magus c9 skimmer. I have tried everything it seems from skimming wetter, drier, level of skimmer depth, I even added a valve on the Venturi air. Nothing at all seemed to work. The skimmer has been in service for about 3 months give or take so breakin period shouldn't be an issue. The problem I have been having is that the foam overflows the collection cup with very little amount of skimmate. I am also running bio pellets in a reactor with the output going to the input of the skimmer before the venturi. I have read foaming is an issue with a skimmer when running pellets. This has been driving me insane for a while so I started to think of how to permanently fix this issue. I thought of adding just a little canola cooking oil to the bottom of the collection cup to make the foam liquidate before foaming over. Sounds kinda crazy but this worked like a charm for me. I am now getting nice dark nasty skimmate collecting without having the over foaming issue. Anyone ever use oil in their skimmer to fix the same issue?

Here are a couple pics of before and after adding the oil to skimmer cup.
