Anyone currently using a Canon 70D Mark II? This is my next possible upgrade and wanted to read your input on it. I toyed with it at the photography store and liked it. I am just curious to see others perspective.

Going from Nikon to Canon?

I went from Nikon to Canon to Sony. :p
Well, in honesty, the company doesn't matter because they all have pros and cons. The lens being used, however, does. I originally started with the Sony Nex5n, which I still have. I later bought the Nikon D3300. I am now have the knowledge (and budget) to choose a better camera(base) according to the purpose I am looking for. It was a tossup between this one and the Nikon D7200 though.

I have one and it's mainly for sports. Get the 5d mark 3 with a 135f2 lens

In doesn't matter to you? Or in doesn't matter in general? If the latter, I certainly disagree with you. Yes, the lens makes the camera, but if you don't have a decent sensor to pick up what you see, well...money wasted.

Have you decided on a body yet?

When it comes to brand, it doesn't. Both Nikon and Canon both have cameras with the same sensor technology; some at similar pricing points and others that differ. We can go through this debate all day long but it still comes down to the lens. No, I haven't yet.

Sensors were just an example. There are various other things to consider between the makers. I'm very much aware that lens are the most important factor with regards to image quality, and I don't disagree with that, but the truth of the matter is there is more to consider. Much more. I'm not a fanboy of either so I'm not biased and I'm not making the argument for any of them. Either way, if the maker didn't matter, you wouldn't be asking about the body.

With that said, I hope you enjoy whatever you choose. Have fun with it and can't wait to see some more tank photos. ;)
