I know it defeats the purpose of a rimless tank but has anyone ever put a canopy on a rimless tank?

We have a canopy over our rimless tank to keep the fish from jumping out...that actually happen many months ago before we had this custom canopy made.

Another reason to have rimless is to avoid the shadows that cross braces cause. My next tank will be rimless with a canopy. Even glass bracing causes ugly, very pronounced shadow caused by the glass edge. At least it does with MH lighting

A friend put a canopy on a Planet Aquarium tank. He ordered the canopy from them. They only suggested to put padding between the glass and supports that actually sit on the tank.

I have been trying to research this of late... I want to get a Red Sea E-170, but our cat is a limiting factor because he climbs all over our 120g, so a rimless or a screen lid just do t seem like a good idea. But I love what the tank has to offer. If I could put a canopy overtop, that would allow the surface to ‘breath’ while keeping our feline friend from getting wet.
