Cant decide on lighting for 4 foot reef tank

Hi all i'm really struggling, I'll be setting up a sps dominant tank but I'm undecided between

2x kessil a500x or
4x radion G5 XR15 Pro

Does anyone have any input ?

Both good lights. It's a very personal decision. Hopefully you can see side by side comparison. Other people's opinion on Lighting Look is not the way to pick a personal light.

I struggled like you. Kessil, T5, or Radion other LED.

I have all 3 in different tanks. G4 Radion, not G5.

Kessil is beautiful since the lense mixes colors well, but the shimmer is intense. If you like shimmer then great. I don't like Shimmer so I mix in T5's to lessen shimmer.

Another option if you are not a shimmer fan for either Radion or Kessil is a diffuser.

If your question is about which is better for SPS, that would depend a lot on your setup. Tank Size/dimension, spread, height of fixture, etc.

I too also have a 4 ft tank, will have 2 x xr15 g6 Pro possibly 3 but found 1 x xr15 pro in my 2 ft was perfect for growing SPS.

Will also buy a diffuser for my Radion lights too to blend in the color a bit more. Has a little bit of a shimmer without it taking it away to much from the scape and corals..

I am in the same boat, only 3ft.
I was 95% 500X until I looked at the ReeFi UNO.
Same power as 500, 183watt each - but cheaper and 3yr warrantee the more I looked the more impressed I was.
I have not purchased yet but days away.... same power as a XR30

Bigger budget = two Ecotech XR30 G5 Pro

Personally light are an investment. Do the Ecotech

On my 4 foot aquarium, I run 2 Radion XR30’s Pros at 80% Point Light Intensity. Getting 600 PAR at the top. SPS thriving.

So many choices, the radions produce seriously nice corals and there colours but the kessil a500x has a better spectrum and people are starting to report colours In corals not previously seen with there previous T5/led. Arghhh

I have a 4ft Cade 1200. I went with 2 G5 30 Pro's and one Kessil A360x in the middle for shimmer. Obviously I'll be ramping up intensity for a while but this way I get the best of both worlds. I’ll be turning the G5’s vertical. Everything is 8” off the tank.

You are not going to be wrong with either choice! Maybe used price as the decision maker. Try to find good condition, recent USED models at great prices. I was able to buy 8 month old G5 XR30’s at 35% off list.

Consider an AquaitcLife T5 hybrid with one of the LED's. I run 2 AP700's on a WB130 but am switching to one AP700 and a 48" T5.

Ledzeal x300 superblue. I've got 4 x200 over a 8x3x2 400g peaking at 40% per channel. 17 inches off the water and 300par on the bottom.
X200 is 2ft long, x300 is 3ft. X400 is supposed to be released but delayed.

I went with 3x G5 XR15 Pro. I'll get PAR reading when I fill the tank in the next few days if you like. Initial impressions are that I could supernova the tank with 3 of these lights.
