We aren't sure what we want to get, so we thought we'd take a poll. When the pic is a school, it mea

Grrrr. Sorry first poll, didn't know it would cut it off. When it is a school in the pic that means we will be getting at least 3

how big is the tank, i'd go both wrasses(if big enough) and the anthias. they are fun to watch.

It's a 150, we have a yellow tang, a pygmy angel, and a paired watchman goby (with snapping shrimp), as well as 3 clowns.

The anthias look like gold fish and the pajama cardinal are boring. They just kind of float all day do go with one of the Wrasse.

Anthias are too sensitive and need to be fed often but will provide great movement in the tank.
The cardinals are really boring but look fantastic and awesome. But the will NEVER move lol.
The two wrasses will roam around everywhere and are amazing colorful. They will also get along with everything great and eat pests.
I would get both wrasses.

The Melanarus Wrasse's color just pop's and its a really active fish. If I had sand again I would have another one.

Is your tank 100% covered by either 1/4" mesh or glass tops? And do you have a sandbed? If yes on both, then I also vote both wrasses! If yes on tops, but no on sand, then only the Flasher Wrasse. If no on tops, then no to both!

+1

Also, be careful with the common name of "pinstripe wrasse", as it can refer to quite a few other species than just the Melanurus you have shown in the photo.

We have a closed top tank (not mesh, but a lid that is designed so that even if they jump, they just bounce off the wall and fall back in) and a deep sand bed that is well established and well maintained by a zillion worms and critters.

Actually with your tank size get them all. A school of pj's, a school of anthias, the carpenter and the melanurus, and in that order they will be fine.

We actually ended up getting a school of talbot damsels, a very lovely unidentified wrasse (all red), a purple firefish, and a yellow tang. The tank is now complete (not counting coral)
