Can't figure out how to connect return pump to the feed

I bought a Jecod DCP-5000 for my RSR 350 and after getting everything put together I realized the Jecod did not have a suitable hose barb to connect to the standard plumbing on the Red Sea tank.

Does anyone know if I can find a Jecod hose barb for this system? Or is this return pump too powerful for my tank as evidenced by the lack of plumbing for my size tank?

Although it would be easier to upsize the plumbing, you can probably get the green vinyl tubing to fit by submerging about 4" of it in boiling water - not hot - BOILING water for several minutes to soften it up. Wearing heavy gloves (it'll be HOT!) you should be able to stretch it over the fitting on the pump. soak it in very cold water then and it will shrink fit on the pumps fitting. You won't even need any sort of hose clamp

I used a heat gun to soften the green tube and then shoved it on there. It’s not going anywhere, that’s for sure.

You may consider this as good place to add a valve to either slow or recirculate the water. With the additional fittings the direct connect will no longer be a concern.

Boiling it/heating it up seems like the best way to go for me (should have thought of that earlier ;Facepalm). Don't think I have the skill or knowledge yet to set up custom piping.

Heat is a great recommendation and should work well. One of the benefits of the additional plumbing is that you can adjust the return flow rate - this may or may not be an issue once you get it hooked up but keep it in mind as an option. Good luck and be safe with the heat!

Glad I read this post. I would have never figured this out. I just attached the green tube. Thanks so much
