Can't figure out what this is. Help!

So I just picked up a new rock today with some palys on it... and found this guy stuck to the bottom of it.

I think that is a Majano Anemone in my opinion. Those are like aptasia

It definitely is an abalone, genus Haliotis. I can see the holes in the shell with tentacle like appendages going through on the first photo.
