Can't figure out what's going on, need help

From my understanding he has many acros in his tank as well, which react much quicker and more harshly to off parameters than Zs and Ps. Im thinking he would have noticed changes in his sps as well.

best thing for him to do is try to correlate when they started to shrink and die to any changes he made in his tank if any

Junkie, in first post I mentioned all the dips I've tried. I think I'll try the peroxide and possibly the freshwater. Keep the suggestions coming.

I have had these zoas, over the period of this issue, in different areas of the tank to see if they would respond better, but no change. I currently have these three now frags, next to each other. I feel like I am basically waiting for them to all melt.

I do remember fragging both DM and CARs. I've heard of colonies, such as Rastas, melting after fragging. Do you think this could be a long dieing off process after fragging?

I wouldn't freshwater dip stressed polyps - it will only stress them more.

Even though they are allready melting away, and as per his first post he has allready tried other methods? Paramaters are in line, and can't seem to find the root of the problem in husbandry. I'm just saying it's something I would do. As for goody, it is up to him, I'm sure he isn't a noob and is aware of stress from a fresh water dip.

He hasn't stated that all his parameters are in line other than the basics. I asked about Mag, iodine and strontium and he hasn't responded.

I would question mag as well. That would also give an indicator of Alk. The colors look like they are washed and this is a sign of params being out of line. Pests will usually cause things to look unhappy or stressed. These look like they've been in the dark.

Also, if you have HA, you have some form of po4. Could be orthophosphates that are not registering on the tests. Or they are bound by the HA. This is another discussion though.

I'm dealing with a similar situation and have been adjusting my alk and it's showing promising results.

Carefull with Vitamin C. It can cause reverse effects if not utilized by the inhabitants. Maybe try stopping the addition of it. Was this a recent thing you changed? Did the problem start when you changed to dosing it?

I must have missed this in one of the posts. I do not and have not ever tested for strontium or iodine. My Mg is 1410.
Other parameters as of today:
alk 9.5dkh
Ca 420
Nitrates 0
Phosphates 0.12 (Just the other day, it measured 0ppm on my hanna handheld, not sure what is going on here)
Temp. 80.4
pH 7.96

Try letting alk drop. You may be getting some alk burn like i was. Lowered mine to 8dkh and everything looks much happier.

Nope, I just lost the last of my nightmares the other day. The CARs, I moved to my frag tank after a peroxide dip not long after I started this post. They are still very pale, skinny looking, and on the edge of melting. I can't believe they have lasted this long in this state. All other zoas/palys are doing great, as are my sps.

When my orange envy's shriveled like that, exactly as you have pictured, I noticed I had very tiny orange/clear bumps on the stem (parasites?). Under my magnifying glass I could never make out what they were, but they did multiply as the coral was dying. I eventually threw them out so nothing else was infected with them.

When I have a colony going downhill, I make a quick move to separate ill polyps from the good in hopes of maximizing survival. Reminds me of losing Armageddons...

I had similar issue with some of my zoas while running vertex bio pellets. I lost a lot of zoas and also had instances where the zoas where getting smaller. This was one of the things that led me to stop running the pellets. Since removing them offline, my zoas are doing a lot better.

Everything I read up on I tried before I tossed them. Zoapox is just one of those things you really can't treat for. Good thing I seen them while they were in QT.

One of my pics? I've had zoapox before and can tell you that is not the problem with mine. If you are referring to Jcr's pic. then I respectfully disagree with you. Any time I have dealt with zoapox in the past, they never turned the polyps "inside out" or had the long, skinny look. I went through zoapox with my rastas back in October and they are totally fine now. I think zoapox is easy to deal with usign the Furan2 dip. I may take a closer look and see if there are any "orange spots". I've looked pretty closely and done different dips over this long period and nothing has helped.
