Its kind of solid slimey. I seached all of the brown algaes i can find and nothing looks similar. Any ideas? Once i know what it is i can figure out how to beat it! Thanks

Little snotty globs? If do I believe it's bacterial. I had it, went away after 6 months.
Haha thats a good way of putting it. My maintance is top notch, only think new is aqua forest program. I started dosing hydrogen peroxide for fun a week ago to see if anything happened..nothing happened. Did it go away on its own?

If it is slimy and amorphous, you probably have cyano bacteria. Like most algae, this can be dealt with by reducing the phosphate and nitrate levels in the tank. A good brute force method of dealing with it is a series of large water changes.

Looks like dinos. To get rid of it in my tank, I upped my nitrates to about 2 ppm (PO4 was undectable, probably because the dinos were using it).

I thought dinos at first too, but doesn't develop airbubbles or reclump when agitated. It was identified eventually (the stuff I had) as just bacterial flock.

Yea like no dino i have ever seen and its not really bubbly and not on any sand. Definately not cyano as its not matty. I rarely have phosphates, i have an algae reactor and i carbon dose and only feed every other day. Also ton of flow, i have a gyre and an mp10 along with return flow in a 57 gallon tank. Also have a reef octo diablo skimmer
