Everywhere I've looked I can't find a single lubbock's fairy wrasse in Canada. FMIR, they're not a particularly rare fish. Is there a reason for this?

Just saw a website called ‘real reef Canada’ has them. Never ordered or heard of them so can’t say if it’s legit or not but just found it. Sadly this is the downside to living in Canada, the simplest things can be the hardest to find. You can always contact candy corals and ask them to get it in, they get fish shipments every Tuesday and have amazing customer service and quality live stock. I’ve ordered lots from them and have never had one issue

I emailed candy corals like 2 weeks ago asking for a lubbocks wrasse and they were like Oh yeah we can get that in this week. It has been a while but I don't blame them honestly. It gets pretty tough and they stock a lot of things. Also real reef canada does not ship anywhere as of late unfortunatley.

I also found a retailer called intotheblueco who has one in stock but its $175 shipping (usually like $30 everywhere else) and it is pick up at the nearest airport (3 hours away) so nah

That’s frustrating for both of those. I know when I asked for 3 types or wrasses it took them a few weeks to get them in. Sorry I didn’t check on real reef shipping, just figured if they have an online website they would ship lol

I beleive their located on the east coast. Don’t blame you for that, crazy shipping as well as a long drive. I’m sure they will come in stock eventually but waiting is the worst part. My lfs is terrible so I have to order all my stuff online. Learned the hard way that wrasses don’t ship well so I just have to take my chances

From what I’ve seen, Cirrhilabrus lubbocki isn’t terribly sought after so it’s not common to find them in the LFS.
Although, you may find you’ve actually walked past a Lubbocki as there are two variants. The most known variant tends to be the ‘Sapphire’ variant (although this isn’t the one that was first identified as the true lubbocki to my knowledge).

I think intotheblueco is located in Winnipeg but I’ve ordered from a store there and it’s always like $30-$50

Why though? They’re a fairy wrasse that doesn’t need a huge tank, they have epic colours, and they’re pretty easy to keep.

It’s likely due to there being over 50 wrasses in that genus and each one shows more colouring than the previous one.
