So was looking in my tank and noticed I couldn't find my cleaner shrimp, only a very large 4yr old shrimp, so typically pretty easy to spot. Any chance anybody else sees him somewhere? Hahaha

Its not a bad fish..... That's just him doing what comes naturally. It would be like getting mad at me if you put a pizza in front of me and expected me not to eat it lol

Ya, I'm not to upset, it's the nature of the game. It's a tough world out there haha... I was more shocked he was even able to do it. The shrimp was bigger than him. And he let him clean him all the time, had been together for years in that tank. Apparently no means no, and the cleaner was persistent ha too bad, all I know is that goby wont be traveling into the upgrade 240g when the switch happens, he gets to go to my "FOWLR" reef, good luck sir, haha.

now ya got me wondering about mine that i lost several months ago again. was just there that morning then come home and gone. Just a shell i found and thought he was in hiding after a molt but never saw him again.

It' kinda funny, I dropped 5 small purple queen Anthias in the other day, and I knew they were small, but with that goby, a leopard wrasse, a coral beauty angel, and mystery wrasse, I really didn't think there would be anything capable of eating them. Well I dropped them in, and never saw them again, literally after the initial drop in the tank never again saw even 1 of them once, been over a week now. Well I'm thinking I know what might have happened now lol MURDERER!!! He got the taste for blood and now he's rabid.

And this all comes after I get back from Vegas and I'm missing a shark! Find the poor guy in the rocks and has a giant bite out of his right gills, clean and smooth cut. Not sure who done it, all my other sharks other than his buddy all seemed like the mouths were way too big to leave the bite that was left, and much to wide and circular of a bite to be one of the eels. So I'm a little baffled as to the culprit. Partially thinking it might have been his little buddy, both were about the same size, but I wouldn't think a small smoothhounds teeth would be big and sharp enough to make as clean a cut as was on the other dead shark. What a rough couple days for my fish.

Our watchman did the same thing last week. At least pretty sure it was him. We have had our goby for 1 1/2yrs with a pair of snapping shrimp. I actually think he was protecting their burrow from the Scarlet Cleaner. Man I liked that shrimp but I think I like the goby more.

How big is that watchman? Theres no way my watchman could eat a cleaner, perhaps its the kong of watchmans or something else killed it and he ate its head?

Shrimp was closer to 3" of pure thick body, watchmen is probably about 2-3", that's why it's so crazy to me, I really doubt it was anybody else, don't think any of my other fish are capable of doing that. And the watchmen is very protective of that cave, but I used to see the cleaner doing his thing to the goby all the time. Was a pretty cool cleaner too, second my hand hit the water he'd jump out from his over hang and get on my hand and not leave it alone. I'm still holding out hope that somehow when I get home today I'm gonna see the shrimp out and about cleaning and alive lol
