I will be lighting a 60g cube with a Kessil. I want to add T5s for saturation, but I can't find a way to fit them using the Pythagorean theorem. Are there any possible CF bulbs that would fit the bill? 24x24 canopy. Should I mount the T5s above the Kessil?

24" T5s and the waterproof end caps are just a smidge under 24 inches. How much room do you have to work with?

CFL have nice spectrum, but with not quite as much output per watt. There is not as good of a selection of bulbs. In the end, they can be just fine if you reflect them well, knowing that they are a bit more power. If you find some bulbs that you like, buy a bunch of them and stockpile. I would use a massive amount of CFLs before I would use LEDs over my acropora.

Dang, got out my tape measure and feel like an idiot. Why are they sold as 24 in kits?
Not going to try Acro anytime soon. I am going for an easy mixed tank. I'll go Acro when I win the Lotto and have nothing but time.

So they will fit?

I was just saying that CFL are not tippy top on efficiency, but they are far from a joke. They can really get the job done if there is nothing else around.
